Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently opened up about the use of social media during an interview at the Red Sea Film Festival. During the conversation, she also addressed speculation about her daughter Aaradhya`s presence on social media.
Aishwarya Rai on Aaradhya`s social media accounts
Aishwarya clarified that Aaradhya does not have any official social media accounts. She clarified that the profiles circulating online using Aaradhya`s name are not managed by her family. Thus, she urged the public to be cautious about assuming their authenticity. The former Miss India expressed gratitude to well-wishers for creating the accounts out of love, but reiterated that any existing accounts are not real.
Aishwarya said, “The things that are out there, sometimes people believe that`s hers, no it isn`t. There is some well-wisher out there who`s made it, I guess. Obviously it comes from a place of love for Aaradhya, for my family, for my husband, for me, and you know, thank you for all your love, but that isn`t her, she`s not on social media.”

The actress also spoke about her own relationship with social media, sharing that she keeps her interaction on platforms minimal and uses it mainly for professional reasons. Meanwhile, she also acknowledged both the advantages and challenges of digital platforms.
She said, “The thing about social media is that they are a part of life today. It is used as a platform to engage, to kind of share your professional work, for companies that engage with you to want to put the communication out, for colleagues to want to kind of encourage people`s possible career opportunities. Yes, there`s a lot of positives in that. But, there`s a lot. Everybody is on their phone, and everybody gets consumed. So that is our reality, there`s no turning away from it.”
The Guzaarish actress also reflected, “It`s important to shut out the noise, it`s important to sieve through, it is important to recognise that this is not really the fulcrum of your existence. This cannot be the validation of your truth. And if you find yourself getting lost in that, you need to detox, you need to cut off and get back in touch with your own reality. Because keeping it real is becoming more and more important.”
She concluded by highlighting the value of in-person interaction saying, “Engage with people around you, engage with the person in front of you. It is rude to kind of, you know, completely disengage with the person in front and feel it`s much more important at that minute to respond to something else on the phone. It`s all right if you`re not giving me likes, not watching my posts, it`s fine. Please engage with people around you. That is so much more important. And I will applaud that and back that any day to you sitting and looking at even my posts.”
