Akshaye Khanna has impressed everyone with his performance in the recently released film Dhurandhar. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film sees him play gangster Rahman Dakhait. After the release, the internet has been flooded with memes and clips from the film, largely focused on Khanna and his on-screen aura. Many viewers have praised the actor, even using clips from his older films to celebrate his performance. Meanwhile, a section of netizens has been wondering whether Khanna is even aware of all this social media attention.
Farah Khan turns meme messenger
Akshaye Khanna has no social media presence, gives very few interviews, and prefers a quiet, private life. But it turns out the actor is very much aware of the memes- thanks to filmmaker Farah Khan. A meme page posted a video of Akshaye’s look as Rahman Dakhait, looking stylish in a turban and sunglasses. The caption read, “Does Akshaye Khanna know he’s getting all this attention?” The post went viral and was noticed by Farah Khan, who worked with Khanna in Tees Maar Khan.
Responding to the post, Farah wrote, “I’m sending him the TMK memes.”

About Khanna’s viral moves in ‘FA9LA’
Khanna makes his entry in the movie to the song FA9LA, created by Bahraini hip-hop star Flipperachi. The track has become a crowd favourite and gone viral on social media. Choreographer Vijay Ganguly told Mid-Day, “The song is a celebration of Akshaye’s character being crowned Sher-E-Baloch. Originally, he was supposed to walk through the dancers and sit on the throne. But seeing the mood of the scene, Akshaye decided to dance a bit. None of us knew what he was going to do. He entered the scene and spontaneously performed.”
Even as he looks back on it, the choreographer is amazed that FA9LA was shot in barely two hours in Ladakh. For that, he credits Khanna’s precision. “It was the first shot we took that day, and it was perfect. Then we did a close-up, and we were done. Akshaye knows exactly what he has to do in a scene and plays with it,” shares Ganguly.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun in key roles. The second part of the film will release on March 19, 2026.
