In a recent conversation with IANS, director Ravi Udyawar, known for his work on the newly released film Do Deewane Seher Mein, delved into the film’s logistics and its captivating color palette. He shared his insights into the overall aesthetic and visual texture that shape the film’s narrative.

Discussing the film’s visual essence, Udyawar remarked, “Every film has its unique canvas. As an artist and painter, I deeply connect with this notion. Abhiruchi Chand, who both wrote the story and screenplay, collaborated closely with me. Each film embodies emotional peaks and valleys, and once the characters are defined, many elements seamlessly align.”

He emphasized the film’s exploration of internal flaws and the necessity of self-acceptance. “Opening up changes everything. In today’s world, we often showcase our best selves, concealing our imperfections. However, revealing your true self fosters connection and eases burdens. This journey is reflected in the characters’ outfits and their evolving color narratives.”

Udyawar added, “As they embark on a quest for self-discovery, their colors emerge. Love often brings a newfound appreciation for colors, and this theme is beautifully woven into the film’s design. Mumbai serves as an integral character, showcasing its softer, romantic essence.”

Mrunal Thakur, who stars in the film, also shared her perspective on her character, Roshni. She expressed how she identified with Roshni’s tendency to hide behind her glasses. “During the story narration, Abhiruchi captured this beautifully. Roshni often retreats behind her glasses, much like I have in my own life, choosing silence even when I knew the answers. This resonated with me, as many individuals, including Shashank’s character played by Siddhant Chaturvedi, struggle with self-doubt despite their talent.”

Thakur further noted, “I felt compelled to join this project because characters like Roshni and Shashank represent countless people grappling with their insecurities. They possess immense potential but often feel overshadowed by comparisons, losing sight of their own identities.”
