Anup Yadav’s remarkable century propelled Dnyandeep Seva Mandal (Nerul) to a dominant position against VN Sule Guruji English Medium School (Dadar) on the first day of their Dream Sports Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school Giles Shield semi-final at Parsee Gymkhana on Monday. Yadav’s impressive innings of 127 runs off just 95 balls fueled Dnyandeep’s strong total of 340 all out in 75.1 overs during this three-day contest. His innings was a masterclass in combining patience with aggression, featuring 24 boundaries and a six. He received excellent backing from Neil Naik, who scored 95, and Shivam Singh, who contributed 41 runs. For VN Sule, Sharvil Nalawade stood out as the top bowler, taking 5 wickets for 94 runs. Aaradhya Kadam added to the tally with three wickets for 59 runs, while Jay Mhatre took two for 62. At the end of Day One, VN Sule was at 19 without loss after nine overs, with Sharvil Nalawade on 10 not out and Devang Koli on six. The other semi-final between Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) and Swami Vivekanand International SSC (Borivli) kicks off today.
