The sponsorship of Team India is set to get costlier, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) raising the amount to Rs 3.5 crore per match of a bilateral series from Rs 3.17 crore previously.
The board has also set the amount of Rs 1.5 crore for one match in the multilateral tournament.
These figures will be applied in the tournaments organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), according to a report in Cricbuzz.
According to industry sources, the report added that these figures are slightly higher than the current rates of Rs 3.17 crore for bilateral games and Rs 1.12 crore for multilateral matches.
The decision was triggered in the wake of Dream 11`s exit as jersey sponsor, which emerged due to the Indian government`s Online Gaming Act 2025.
Following the government`s recent Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, the BCCI promptly cancelled the contract of the Indian team`s lead sponsor, Dream11.
With this revision, which will come into effect only after the end of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, the BCCI could potentially earn over Rs 400 crore, though the final figure may be higher depending on the bidding outcome.
The BCCI on Tuesday, September 2, invited bids for the Indian team`s title sponsorship rights after fantasy sports giant Dream11`s pullout and barred companies dealing in real money gaming and cryptocurrency from the process due to a government ban on such entities.
The “Men in Blue” will feature in the Asia Cup 2025 without a title sponsor. The continental tournament is set to kick start from September 9 in the UAE, and the board has set September 16 as the last date to submit the bids.
Team India will begin its campaign with a clash against the UAE on September 10 at the Dubai International Stadium.
