On the occasion of Team India`s head coach Gautam Gambhir`s 44th birthday, the cricket fraternity has extended their wishes to the former opening batsman.

Legendary Team India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh shared a video on his official social media handle. “Wishing a very happy birthday to the one who was Gambhir when he played for India and now even more Gambhir while coaching for India! Lots of love brother ❤️ Keep up the great work and have a lovely year ahead!,” read the caption of Yuvraj`s post.

Former spinner Harbhajan Singh also shared a post, which read, “Happy Birthday Gauti @GautamGambhir May you continue to be blessed and stay happy and healthy . Wish you all the happiness brother. Love Always”.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a post with a summary of his international career with the “Men in Blue”.

“Bhai ki kasam hai, cake na lagaiyo 🤣  many happy returns of the day brother @GautamGambhir may you have a great year professionally as well as Personally,” read the post of cricketer-turned-commentator, Irfan Pathan.

Over the years, Gambhir has been hailed as the “Man of the big matches” for Team India. During his playing career, the left-hander had constantly delivered performances in the knockout games and big occasions for the “Men in Blue”.

He had a remarkable career in ODIs. Having featured in 147 matches for India, Gambhir scored 5238 runs, with a top score of an unbeaten 150 runs. The former left-hander also made 37 T20I appearances for the “Men in Blue”, in which he scored 932 runs. His career best score in the format is 75 runs. Gambhir also donned the Indian Test jersey on 58 occasions and has smashed 4154 runs. His top score in the traditional format of the match is 206 runs.

He was also a part of Team India that won the T20 World Cup 2007, Asia Cup 2010, and ODI World Cup 2011. After drawing curtains on his international career, Gambhir is still involved with the Indian team, but this time as a head coach. Under his coaching, the “Men in Blue” won the Champions Trophy 2025 and recently also clinched the title of Asia Cup 2025.
