Ahead of the white-ball series against Team India, Australia has announced their squads, starting from October 19. Pat Cummins will miss the India series, and in his place, Mitchell Marsh has been named the captain in both formats.
Cummins is still in the process of fully recovering from the lumbar bone stress in order to be fit for the Ashes.
Mitchell Starc, who recently announced his retirement from the T20 Internationals, did not feature in the home ODI series against South Africa in August. His workload is being carefully managed ahead of the Ashes.
Starc`s last played ODI match was in November 2024 against Pakistan in Adelaide.
Additionally, Matthew Renshaw, Matt Short, and Mitch Owen have been added to Australia`s ODI squad. Alex Carey will miss the first match of the ODI series, as he will be making his appearance in the second round of the Sheffield Shield against Queensland at the Adelaide Oval.
Travis Head will be the top player to watch out for from the Australian team. Also, premier all-rounder Cameron Green has been added to the ODI squad of the Aussies. He will be expected to play an impactful role in the series against the “Men in Blue”.
For Team India, Suryakumar Yadav will continue to lead the T20I pack, whereas Rohit Sharma has been replaced by Shubman Gill as the new skipper in the One-Day Internationals.
The first ODI will be played in Perth on October 19, while the second and third matches will be held on October 23 (Adelaide) and October 25 (Sydney).
After that, the five matches of the T20I series will be played on October 29 (Canberra), October 31 (Melbourne), November 2 (Hobart), November 6 (Gold Coast) and November 8 (Brisbane).
