Ahead of the third ODI and five-match T20I series against Team India, Cricket Australia confirmed a host of changes in the squads.
Jack Edwards received his first international call-up after being added to the team for the third ODI match, which is scheduled to be played on October 25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Glenn Maxwell and Ben Dwarshuis have also been considered fit to return for the last three T20I matches against the “Men in Blue”.
Edwards received a call-up to the team after his stunning performances for Australia A on the recent tour of India. He played a knock of 88 runs in the second unofficial four-day match in Lucknow.
He then returned with figures of 4/56 and engineered 89 off 75 in the second and third 50-over matches in Kanpur, respectively, while captaining Australia A.
Marnus Labuschagne has been released from Australia`s squad for the third ODI. He will now prepare for Queensland`s Sheffield Shield match with New South Wales, which will begin on Tuesday at the Gabba.
Star all-rounder Maxwell will return to the action for the last three shortest format matches. He has been ruled out of the first two matches due to a fractured wrist. He sustained an injury while bowling in the nets in New Zealand last month. Dwarshuis has been ruled out of the ODI series and the three T20Is due to a calf injury, but has been named for the last two T20Is.
