On Friday, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced a significant one-time financial aid of Rs 1 lakh for the widows of former Mumbai cricketers who do not benefit from the BCCI pension scheme. Under the leadership of Ajinkya Naik, the MCA has also officially urged the BCCI to consider extending pension benefits to the widows of former domestic players. A statement released by the MCA highlighted, “This decision was made by the MCA Apex Council in acknowledgment of the remarkable contributions made by past players who have dedicated their careers to Mumbai cricket. The funds for this support will come from the proceeds of exhibitors at the recently held Cric-Kit Fair.”
