Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant challenges the notion of work-life balance, urging young individuals to push their limits and focus on hard work before taking time to relax. He believes that the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly shifted his perspective on life, making him more focused and serious about his goals.

“These days, we often hear about work-life balance, but it’s crucial to understand that hard work should come first. Go all in on your passion, and later, you’ll have your time to unwind. As a young person, it’s essential to test your boundaries because there’s always time to recover,” said Pant, who was recently appointed as SBI Life’s brand ambassador alongside Ravindra Jadeja during an event.

At 28, Pant has played 156 international matches, scoring over 5,000 runs across formats. He shared how the loss of his father, Rajendra, at a young age taught him responsibility and resilience. “Losing my father made me strong and taught me to embrace responsibility positively. My seriousness intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, as a young cricketer, my focus was solely on the game. My dream was to represent India, and everything else was secondary,” he remarked.

Ravindra Jadeja, 37, with 373 international matches under his belt, added that a sense of security can greatly enhance performance. “Having security is crucial. In cricket, you can express yourself fully when you know your position in the team is stable. This principle applies across all professions,” Jadeja noted.
