Actor Aamir Dalvi has taken a bold step in his career with his portrayal of the main antagonist, Salim Kattawala, in the film Kennedy. While he has previously tackled morally complicated roles, this marks his first venture into Bollywood as a villain. Reflecting on his character, Aamir admitted that it was the silence associated with Salim that genuinely unsettled him. He explained, “I’ve portrayed negative roles before, so the darkness itself doesn’t intimidate me. What truly frightened me was the silence. Salim doesn’t need validation; he enters a room, and the atmosphere shifts. That kind of quiet authority lingers and is profoundly disquieting.” Aamir emphasized that the real challenge lay in exercising restraint in his performance. He noted that he never viewed Salim as a traditional villain, but rather as someone who is convinced of the righteousness of his actions. “I didn’t see him as a villain. I approached him as a person who firmly believes in his mission. That conviction is frightening because when someone is certain of their path, they stop questioning their actions, which makes them capable of anything,” he elaborated. Kennedy, featuring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in pivotal roles, is a dark noir film that explores the murky waters of morality and the costs of survival. The story follows Kennedy, an insomniac former police officer, who secretly navigates the corrupt system, enduring various hardships while searching for redemption. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Kennedy is set to debut on ZEE5 on February 20. Aamir is also recognized for his performances in popular television series like Shapath Supercops vs Supervillains, Sanskaar Laxmi, Devanshi, Zindagi’s Bhaage Re Mann, and Aladdin.
