Aditya Dhar’s much-anticipated film, Dhurandhar 2, has recently come under scrutiny for breaching safety regulations established by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). In light of these violations, the BMC has taken steps to blacklist Dhar’s production company, B62 Studios. The latest update reveals that the civic authority has issued a show-cause notice to B62 Studios, which is co-owned by director Aditya Dhar and producer Lokesh Dhar, alongside two other individuals, Komal Pokhriyal and Nasir Khan.
Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani shared with Bombay Times that the situation is still being assessed at the ward level, and while a show-cause notice has been served, the production house has not yet been blacklisted. He emphasized the importance of hearing from Aditya and Lokesh before making any final decisions on blacklisting.
Gagrani also noted the BMC’s support for the entertainment sector’s growth in Mumbai, stressing that such progress should never compromise public safety. He assured that the matter would be resolved soon.
According to sources, the Dhurandhar 2 team had obtained the necessary permissions for filming in South Mumbai and understood regulations regarding hazardous materials on set. However, their recent shoot reportedly involved a breach of these rules, endangering lives.
The violations came to light during a recent patchwork shoot in Mumbai, where the cast and crew filmed on the terrace of an old building. They operated two generator vans and utilized gas cylinders without the required permissions, leading to a serious safety concern. As a result, the BMC seized the equipment on-site.
Following these incidents, the BMC dispatched a letter to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Zone 1, requesting a fine of Rs 1 lakh. The letter also called for the permanent blacklisting of B62 Studios from future filming applications, in addition to forfeiting their Rs 25,000 security deposit.
Dhurandhar 2, featuring a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026.
