The U.S. Department of Justice has unveiled a significant trove of investigative documents related to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, releasing over three million pages of records, along with more than 2,000 videos and approximately 180,000 images. This disclosure has implicated several Indian celebrities. In response, actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has voiced her strong dismay regarding the Epstein files, describing the revelations as profoundly unsettling.

On her Instagram Story, Kangana conveyed her feelings about the disturbing nature of the newly released details, which have altered her perspective on power, fame, and society. She expressed, “The details in the Epstein files are shocking and disheartening. While crimes occur everywhere, the nature of what they are involved in resembles a twisted high-society cultural practice—a monstrous, evil religion. How could these iconic figures—rockstars, actors, politicians—harm and exploit vulnerable young women and innocent children?”

Kangana further elaborated on how the reports have left her feeling despondent about the future of humanity. She connected her reflections to Indian culture and spiritual beliefs, asserting that they hold the key to the answers the world is desperately seeking. “These revelations make me deeply sorrowful and pessimistic about the essence of humanity. I am convinced that India’s culture and values, along with the eternal truths beyond the physical realm, are what the world truly needs. The ancient tales of gods and demons remain relevant today. Ultimately, it is a battle between good and evil. Which side do you stand on? #harekrishna,” she added.

Notably, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been mentioned in the Epstein files as the “Bollywood guy” in email exchanges involving Epstein and figures such as Giuseppe Bersani, Gino Yu, and Ornella Corazza. Kashyap appears alongside other well-known personalities, including Ben Goertzel and DJ Spooky, often labeled as “cool people” invited to various events in cities like Shanghai. Actress Nandita Das is also named in these documents.

On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in the film “Emergency,” where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She not only starred in the film but also took on the roles of director and producer, with its theatrical release date set for January 17, 2025.
