It’s been a year since Shahid Kapoor’s gripping cop drama, ‘Deva’, made its debut, and actress Kubbra Sait took a moment to reflect on the transformative journey the film has provided her. In a heartfelt social media post, she shared how the experience challenged her both as an actress and an individual.

Kubbra expressed, “This film broke me a little. And it built me a lot. It’s been almost a year since ‘Deva’ was released — a full year filled with shooting in real locations, long days, and the kind of exhaustion that leads to real growth.”

She candidly acknowledged the difficulties she faced, stating, “I struggled most days on this project. But tough situations have a unique way of shaping you. They foster resilience, forge deep connections, and enhance your relationship with yourself.”

Playing the role of Dipti Singh, Kubbra discovered new depths within herself. “She’s a woman trained not to trust her instincts, yet those instincts are often spot on. Maintaining that internal contradiction resonated with me long after,” she added.

As she celebrated the first anniversary of ‘Deva’, Kubbra expressed her gratitude to the entire team, saying, “Happy one year to a journey I won’t forget. My first theatrical release of 2025. Growth isn’t always pretty, but it is powerful. Happy Anniversary @roykapurfilms, you made me SOLID! Congratulations, BIG KISS, and I miss you all.”

Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under the banner of Roy Kapur Films, ‘Deva’ features Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Pavail Gulati in key roles. The film is an adaptation of Andrrews’s own 2013 Malayalam film, ‘Mumbai Police’, and tells the story of a violent cop whose life takes a dramatic turn after a memory-loss accident.
