Do you remember the stunning lehenga that Kareena Kapoor donned in the timeless song Bole Chudiyan from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham? Even if you haven’t seen the film, that vibrant lehenga likely springs to mind, thanks to the song’s enduring popularity. Now, renowned designer Manish Malhotra has reimagined this classic piece, showcasing it on none other than Nysa Devgn, daughter of actress Kajol.

In a recent post on his social media, Manish Malhotra reflected on how Kareena’s outfits from the film have remained a significant part of pop culture, even 25 years after its release. He shared striking images of Nysa in a modern interpretation of the Bole Chudiyan lehenga, expressing his thoughts: “The Bole Chudiyan song pioneered the trend of Indian wedding sangeet ceremonies, where families come together to dress up and dance, as seen in Karan Johar’s 2001 blockbuster #kabhikhushikabhiegham. It’s heartwarming to see these costumes continue to resonate across generations.”

Nysa looked radiant in the updated version of the lehenga, which Manish referred to as the ‘Bole Chudiyan Outfit 2025/26.’ He emphasized his vision from 35 years ago, when he began his career in costume design, stating how these styles have become timeless and transcendent.

Manish also credited the song for initiating the celebration of Indian wedding sangeet events, where families come together to showcase their joy through dance.
