Music composer and filmmaker Palaash Muchhal has initiated legal proceedings against Marathi actor and producer Vidnyan Mane, issuing a defamation notice worth Rs 10 crore. This action comes in response to what Palaash describes as ‘extremely defamatory’ claims surrounding an alleged Rs 40 lakh fraud case in Sangli. He has vehemently rejected the accusations, asserting that they are intended to tarnish his reputation.
In a statement shared on social media, Palaash outlined the situation, revealing that his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, had formally sent the defamation notice to Mane. He expressed, ‘My lawyer Shreyansh Mithare has issued a Rs 10 crore legal notice to Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane for his false, outrageous, and highly defamatory statements against me.’ Palaash firmly stated that the allegations are entirely false and malicious.
Addressing the issue shortly after the allegations surfaced, Palaash refuted Mane’s claims, declaring, ‘In light of the accusations made by Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane on social media, I want to clarify that these claims against me are completely baseless and factually incorrect.’ He emphasized that such remarks have severely impacted his personal and professional reputation.
Mane’s allegations suggest that he invested Rs 40 lakh into a film project linked to Palaash, which allegedly did not materialize. Mane claims he was promised a return on his investment but has yet to see any compensation. However, Palaash has categorically denied any involvement in financial misconduct.
Reaffirming his determination to address the situation legally, Palaash stated he would seek all necessary remedies to safeguard his reputation. He pointed out that the accusations are not only damaging but also reckless. ‘These statements aim solely to undermine my image and character,’ he remarked, adding that the issue will now be pursued through legal channels.
This controversy has attracted significant attention, particularly as it arises during a period of increased public scrutiny regarding Palaash’s personal life.
