Ranbir Kapoor has been notably absent from the silver screen for a while, following his last theatrical release in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal.’ Despite having an impressive lineup of upcoming projects, his fans have been longing for his presence since 2023. Recently, as anticipation builds for his next film, a fan took a playful jab at the actor regarding his prolonged absence and the delays in his releases.
During an Instagram live session for his brand ARKS, a fan made a remark about how Ranbir’s movies often take years to complete. The actor caught wind of this comment and addressed it during the session. The fan humorously noted, “Ek superstar tha jo, ‘See you at the movies,’ bolke 3-4 saal gayab ho jaata hai (There was a superstar who used to say ‘see you at the movies,’ but then would vanish for 3-4 years)!” This was in reference to Ranbir’s well-known phrase during his award acceptance speeches.
With a smile, Ranbir replied, “Yaar, it’s my bad luck! Whenever I start a movie, it usually… People finish films in 4-6 months, but mine take longer. I hope that when it’s finally out, you will forget the wait. I assure you I’ve been working really hard for the last 2-3 years. Good things take time!”
On the work front, Ranbir is set to star in ‘Love and War,’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, where both he and Vicky portray Air Force officers in this period romantic drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This film marks Ranbir’s second collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker since his debut in ‘Saawariya,’ although its release date has already been postponed twice.
Additionally, Ranbir is preparing to embody Lord Rama in the ambitious two-part film ‘Ramayana’ directed by Nitesh Tiwari, featuring Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The first part is slated for release this year, just in time for Diwali, while the concluding part is expected to hit theaters on Diwali 2027.
Moreover, Ranbir is reuniting with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for a sequel to ‘Animal,’ titled ‘Animal Park.’
