The teaser for The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond takes a bold and intense turn from its predecessor. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the sequel explores the harrowing experiences of three Hindu girls—Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha, and Aditi Bhatia—whose lives descend into chaos after forming relationships with three Muslim men. What starts as romance gradually unveils a sinister, orchestrated narrative around religious conversion. Amid the rising anticipation for the film, an emotionally charged song titled O Maayi Ri has just been released.

O Maayi Ri is a poignant tribute to the enduring bond between mother and child, brought to life by the soulful voice of Shreya Ghoshal. The song is a harmonious blend of Mannan Shaah’s evocative composition and Manoj Muntashir’s touching lyrics, capturing the essence of warmth, protection, and unconditional love that resonates in every heartbeat. This melody lingers in the air long after it’s played, offering a comforting embrace during moments of reflection.

This enchanting track is yet another collaboration between Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Shreya Ghoshal, following their successful partnership in films like Force (2011), Main Chali, Action Replayy, O Bekhabar, and Tera Mera Pyaar.

The film’s tagline, “Ab Sahenge Nahi… Ladenge!” echoes throughout the teaser, encapsulating its spirit and message. Following the profound impact of The Kerala Story, which stirred audiences across the nation with its daring narrative, the sequel is set to challenge boundaries even further, pushing beyond silence and comfort.

Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and co-produced by Aashin A Shah under the Sunshine Pictures banner, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.

The Kerala Story stirred controversy by addressing the issue of forced conversions of women in Kerala and their recruitment by ISIS, claiming that up to 32,000 women fell victim to these circumstances, with many taken to ISIS-controlled Syria. Following the trailer’s release, the film faced legal challenges with a petition filed in the Supreme Court to halt its release due to accusations of promoting hate speech and propaganda. The Supreme Court, however, declined to intervene, noting that the film had received certification from the board.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor critiqued the filmmakers via social media, alleging false claims and a negative portrayal of Kerala. Activists and legal representatives even offered rewards for proof of the film’s allegations, with the Kerala State Committee of Muslim Youth League announcing a reward of Rs 1 crore for anyone who can substantiate the claims made about the 32,000 alleged conversions. They stated that collection centers for evidence will be established in every district, urging individuals to take up the challenge and present proof.
