Varun Dhawan is riding high on the success of his latest film, Border 2, where he portrays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya. Inspired by the historical 1971 India-Pakistan war, the movie features several gripping battle sequences. Unfortunately, during the filming of one such intense scene, Varun encountered a significant setback.

In a video shared on Instagram, Varun can be seen engaged in an action-packed sequence with a co-star playing a Pakistani army soldier. As the scene progresses, he gets pushed back towards a cameraman and, in a split-second decision to avoid a collision, he lands hard on a rock, injuring his tailbone.

In his post, he wrote, “The worst injury I ever got on Border 2. I smashed my tailbone into a rock when I tried to avoid banging into the camera. It was the worst pain I ever felt. Thankful to my team for helping me continue that day. I could barely walk, but I kept going. Grateful for the journey.”

Earlier, Varun had also posted a series of behind-the-scenes images from the film set, expressing how Border 2 pushed him to his limits, both physically and emotionally. He shared that the filming experience coincided with a particularly challenging time in his life, filled with injuries and personal transitions.

Border 2 is brought to audiences by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in partnership with J.P. Films. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the film is set for release on January 23.

Looking ahead, Varun Dhawan will also star in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, alongside Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur, with a release date of June 5. Initially scheduled for April 10, 2026, this drama draws inspiration from the hit song “Hai Jawani Toh Pyaar Hona Hai” from David Dhawan’s film Biwi No 1, featuring Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor. The movie promises a delightful mix of romance and light-hearted storytelling, following the journey of a man who faces multiple rejections from women but finds unexpected help from divine intervention.
