Salman Khan helped Armaan and Amaal Malik establish their Bollywood music careers. However, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star imposed one condition on the Malik brothers: they had to go shirtless in one of Jai Ho`s music videos. Armaan Malik recently stated to director Farah Khan that he reduced 10-15 kgs for the actor.
Armaan Malik shed 10-15 kilograms for Salman Khan`s music video
Armaan Malik informed Farah Khan that he recorded a pop album in 2014. The Bol Do Na Zara hitmaker, who was only 16, convinced Salman Khan to listen to it. “I had the desire to become India`s Justin Bieber,” Malik explained.
To his surprise, the Bodyguard actor adored two of Armaan`s tracks on the CD. “Salman bhai said that I should not release this album because he wanted to use 1-2 songs for his [upcoming] film Jai Ho,” Malik said to the Main Hoon Na director.
“That is how our Bollywood debut happened,” the 30-year-old revealed. Salman Khan wanted to feature Armaan and Amaal Malik in one of the videos for the songs. “He said we would be shirtless, but I told him that would not be possible,” Malik recalled. “We both were healthy kids,” he shared.
However, the Dabangg actor was keen to make Armaan and Ammal appear fit. As a result, he assigned Armaan Malik a “rigorous dance and workout schedule”. “I lost 10-15 kgs,” Armaan told Farah Khan, who served the singer junglee mutton.

“But later, he explained that it was a joke. “Yeh tujhe daraane ke liye tha [It was just to scare you],” Armaan said. He expressed relief that he would not have to appear “shirtless” in a music video for Salman Khan.
Salman Khan`s Jai Ho (2014), which also starred Tabu and Daisy Shah, grossed around Rs 186.37 crore at the box office, according to Sacnilk. Aside from the title tune Jai Jai Jai Jai Ho, Armaan Malik sang the songs Tumko To Aana Hi Tha and Love You Till The End from the film.
Armaan Malik expressed gratitude to Salman Khan for the opportunity to display his ability through Jai Ho. “He was the one who discovered my talent and brought it to the audience`s attention,” Malike told The Indian Express in 2016.
