Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that the state government intends to file a charge sheet in the Zubeen Garg death case by December 8. Underscoring his assertions that the singer`s death was a murder rather than an accident, he stated, “We will submit the chargesheet by December 17. Our target date is December 8.”

The process, he added, requires approval from the Union Home Ministry because the probe incorporates elements from a foreign country. He further acknowledged that he had already discussed the issue with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Assam CM makes shocking claims

“If something happens abroad, before submitting the chargesheet, we require permission from the MHA. Yesterday (Sunday), I apprised the Home Minister as well so that we get the approval quickly. In the next three-four days, the SIT will write to the MHA seeking the approval. We will get the approval. Once we get the approval, we will file the chargesheet on December 8, 9 or 10,” Sarma quipped.

Assam has been in sorrow since Garg, the legendary singer, musician, actor, and filmmaker, drowned while swimming in the water after a yacht party in Singapore on September 19. He was 52. An SIT has been probing the case.

Initially, death was considered to be an accident, but the case took a new turn when Garg`s band mate, Sekhar Jyoti Goswami claimed that he was poisoned by his manager Siddharth Sharma and Shyamkanu Mahanta, the organizer of the Northeast India.

The SIT charged Sharma and Mahanta with murder. So far, seven people have been arrested, and the SIT has questioned more than 70 others as part of the probe.

Zubeen Garg`s last film Roi Roi Binale was released

The public`s outrage and demand for justice rose on October 31, when Garg`s final Assamese film, Roi Roi Binale, was released throughout Assam. Many of his followers broke down as the film was presented in all movie theaters and multiplexes, and tickets for the event remained booked for the next two weeks.

Zubeen`s wife Garima Saika Garg also shared his last handwritten note for the film where he urged his fans to come and watch it in large numbers and shower love to his work.
