A winning reunion
Punjabi singer and actor, Diljit Dosanjh has officially confirmed that his second collaboration with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has been wrapped up. The film’s team was shooting the final schedule in Punjab. The actor posted a video on Instagram on December 12, giving fans a glimpse into his daily routine on set and subtly revealing that the duo is back together after the massive success of Amar Singh Chamkila (2024). In the vlog, Diljit is seen filming sequences in front of a green screen and interacting warmly with Imtiaz and the film’s crew. mid-day had earlier reported that this venture is a period romantic drama set against the backdrop of India’s partition. The movie also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina (A deep love story in the making, October 11).
Unaffected by setbacks
Actor Ranveer Singh’s spy thriller Dhurandhar has been blocked from release in six Gulf countries — Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. According to reports, authorities in these regions raised concerns over what was viewed as “anti-Pakistan” messaging. The movie has also drawn criticism from Pakistani critics and social media users who claim that the movie has numerous factual inaccuracies and the makers have taken creative liberties. However, according to reports, Aditya Dhar’s directorial venture has already earned Rs 313 crore globally.
