On the other side
Global sensation Priyanka Chopra Jonas reflected on her 25-year run in showbiz at the Bridge Media Summit in Abu Dhabi, saying she remains grateful to her younger self for “all the hard work.” The actor, who arrived in Bollywood without industry backing, recalled how “Mumbai was terrifying” and admitted she once saw “six movies flop back to back.” She said Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion (2008) was the film that “changed the course” for her. Priyanka added that opportunities were often “taken away,” which pushed her to carve her own path, whether in Hindi cinema or Hollywood. Now far more selective with roles, she said she is “on the other side” of her sacrifices and urged young people to “go easy on themselves” and prioritise well-being. A little wisdom from someone who’s clearly earned it.
My house, my rules!
Shahid Kapoor
What does a chill day in Shahid Kapoor’s life look like? In a candid chat on Instagram, the Haider (2014) star offered a breezy tour of his home while revealing his strictly enforced house rules. During a round of Two Truths and a Lie, Shahid joked about footwear indoors, saying shoes were “fair game” because “I don’t like to take my shoes off.” Describing his ideal day, he said, “I probably get up at 8.30 am, chill with the kids, take the wife out for coffee, meet friends, and maybe catch a movie.” Another rule? “Nobody messes with my music.” He added that the Kapoors love feeding guests “delicious food,” before cheekily admitting this final rule was the lie — though he “would love it” if everyone finished their meal.
Busy bee
Raveena Tandon and Rasha Thadani
Rasha Thadani, daughter of actor Raveena Tandon, has stepped away from director Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Bollywood debut, despite having liked the script. Word is that she was “a leading contender” for the romantic drama, but exited due to a schedule clash, admitting her dates “just didn’t align.” Delays on her upcoming film Laikey Laikaa and preparations for her Telugu debut have only tightened her already packed calendar. The yet-untitled project, with music by AR Rahman, is still finalising its cast. The industry is watching closely to see who snaps up the now-free spot.
‘Everything feels like déjà vu’
Boman Irani; (right) First look of Boman Irani in ‘The Raja Saab’
Things have become monotonous for Boman Irani, who took to his social media to share his feelings of exhaustion. In his cryptic post, he stated that he has “finally hit” the “limit”. He also stated that he is considering “stepping away for a bit”. “You know those days when everything starts to feel like déjà vu? Same old plots, too much drama. Honestly, I think I’ve finally hit my limit. I am exhausted. Maybe it’s time to step away for a bit, no chaos, no drama. I’m fine, just need a breather. Just my thoughts… don’t read too much into it,” wrote the actor, who plays a psychiatrist, hypnotist, and paranormal investigator in the Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab.
