Dinesh Vijan shares his casting criteria
The man behind the banner, producer and founder Dinesh Vijan, recently revealed how he chooses actors for his films. From Pankaj Tripathi and Kriti Sanon to Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal and Shraddha Kapoor, the production house`s casting choices have delivered performances that stay with audiences even after the credits roll. During an interview on The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra, Vijan revealed, “I only have two barometers. I like to work with actors who are at the top of their game, even if life’s not been kind to them, and who are good human beings. They make the atmosphere on set beautiful, and it elevates the film.”
With his sharp vision and deep understanding of both emotion and entertainment, Maddock has been setting benchmarks for contemporary Hindi cinema. Its most latest release, Thama, is already attracting positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. Meanwhile, their upcoming film, Sriram Raghavan`s directorial Ikkis, is one of the most anticipated titles of the year, which is slated to hit theatres later this year.
Maddock`s upcoming films
The makers of the horror-comedy universe Maddock Films recently joined forces with OTT platform Prime Video for a multi-year licensing collaboration. This venture gives Prime Video worldwide-exclusive streaming rights to eight of the upcoming films from Maddock Films.
The partnership is for the post-theatrical licensing, and will see Prime Video docking the film from the horror-comedy universe, premiering theatrically between 2025 and 2027. This includes Thamma, in addition to two other titles in this franchise that will be announced soon.
The slate also includes Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Param Sundari, which released in theatres on August 29, 2025, as well as Shiddat 2 and Badlapur 2, expansions of two highly successful franchises.
