On Tuesday, false reports of his demise also surfaced but were immediately dismissed by his wife Hema Malini and daughter, Esha Deol. On Wednesday, Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital and is currently being treated at home. Amid this, a video of the actor surrounded by his family at the hospital went viral on social media. The video, which was secretly shot and uploaded online, was recorded by a hospital employee who has now been arrested.
Hospital employee arrested
In the viral clip, reportedly from inside Breach Candy’s ICU, Dharmendra can be seen lying on a hospital bed with several tubes attached to him. The actor appears unconscious and is surrounded by his family members, including sons Sunny and Bobby Deol. His first wife, Prakash Kaur, is also seen sitting by his side. The visibly emotional family is seen praying for his recovery.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the hospital employee who secretly recorded the video of the veteran actor and his family has been arrested. Further details about the case are yet to be revealed.
Sunny Deol slams media
After the video leaked, Sunny Deol was seen addressing the media gathered outside his father’s home on Thursday. The emotional actor lashed out at photographers for filming his grieving family. He was spotted outside his Juhu residence and, after walking a short distance, turned back to confront the press.
He said, “Aapke ghar mein maa-baap hain, bachche hain. Chu**** ki tarah video bhej rahe ho. Sharam nahi aati? (Don’t you have parents and children at home? Don’t you feel any shame?).” After expressing his anger, the actor folded his hands and walked away.
Hema Malini on Dharmendra’s health
Hema Malini also shared an update on Dharmendra’s health, saying that his children were taking good care of him and requested everyone to pray for his recovery.
In a chat with Subhash K. Jha, as quoted by The Times of India, she said, “It has not been an easy time for me. Dharamji’s health is a matter of great concern for us. His children are sleepless. I can’t afford to be weak; there are too many responsibilities. But yes, I am happy he’s back home. We are relieved he is out of the hospital. He needs to be among the people he loves. The rest is in the hands of the Almighty. Please pray for us.”
