Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna were all set to begin shooting for their upcoming film Cocktail 2 in Delhi. However, the team has postponed the schedule due to severe air pollution and heightened security in the city following the recent deadly blast.

Cocktail 2 shoot postponed

According to Hindustan Times, the team was supposed to kick-start the Delhi schedule on November 12 and shoot for seven days. However, it has now been deferred, keeping the latest developments in mind.

Quoting a source, the portal reported, “The air pollution crisis is one of the reasons. The heightened tension after the Delhi blast has also influenced the decision. The team had planned a schedule in the Old Delhi area, so multiple factors led to this move. The Delhi schedule isn’t cancelled, just pushed. The makers are now planning to shoot in December, if all goes well.”

The team had planned to shoot across various parts of Delhi, including the university area, South Delhi, and Central Delhi. “The new dates aren’t confirmed yet. The makers will reassess the situation at the end of the month before finalising,” added the source.

The powerful explosion, which tore through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro station on Monday evening, killed 12 people and left 20 others injured. The area, typically bustling with traffic and tourists, has now turned into a cordoned-off zone of mangled metal and shattered calm.

The film is a sequel to Cocktail, also directed by Homi Adajania, which explored friendship, love, and heartbreak. The original starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty as three contrasting personalities whose friendship is tested when love complicates their lives.
