Satish Shah, 74, of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame, died on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from kidney problems. The news of his death has left the film industry in complete shock. Bollywood celebrities from all around the business are grieving the death of renowned actor Satish Shah.
Celebrities, including filmmaker Karan Johar and Farah Khan, as well as comedian and actor Johny Lever, have turned to social media to express their grief and offer sincere homage to him.
Celebs penned heartfelt notes for Satish Shah
Johny Lever, who has been a co-star of the actor in numerous films, penned a heartfelt note, “Feeling extremely sad to share that we’ve lost a great artist & my dearest friend of over 40 years. It’s hard to believe I had spoken to him just two days ago. Satish Bhai, you will truly be missed. Your immense contribution to film and television will never be forgotten. @sats.workplace (sic).”
Karan Johar extended condolences on his Instagram story and wrote, “Om Shanti.”
Ashoke Pandit also penned an emotional note with a video reminiscing fond memories with friend Satish Shah, “Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has passed away a few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was rushed to Hinduja Hospital, where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti (sic).”
Ameesha Patel who was Satish`s co-star in her debut film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai wrote, “Saddened to hear this heartbreaking news! Had the privilege to work with him in my debut film, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. Fine actor but finer human being! Om Shanti (sic).”
R Madhavan, Farah Khan and others shared
R Madhavan shared a throwback picture from their show together and penned, “The heavens will be a merrier and a happier place now. Satish Ji we make the Gods laugh out loud as they admire their own creation. Thank you for being such a solid wind beneath my wings early on in my career for constantly believing in me and egging me on. You will be missed you so very much, Satish Ji.. A void that can never be filled Rest in Eternal Peace sir as we grapple on how to carry on without you. OM Shanthi (sic).”
Farah Khan also penned an emotional note as she directed Shah in Main Hoon Na, “Rest in peace, dearest Satish. You were a joy to know and work with. Will miss you sending me memes and jokes every day (sic).” Further, Anupam Kher, Sunny Deol and others also shared their heartfelt condolences.
Shah was known for his flexibility and comedic timing in both film and television. He played memorable roles in `Hum Saath Saath Hain`, `Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na`, and the popular television drama `Sarabhai vs Sarabhai`. His ability to play a variety of roles garnered him respect from peers and viewers alike.
According to Shah`s management, the actor`s body is still in the hospital and his funeral will be held on Sunday. Many celebrities and members of the film fraternity are expected to pay their final respects.
