Veteran actor Sanjay Khan’s love affair with his Abdullah co-star Zeenat Aman is no secret. They met on the sets of the film in 1980, when Sanjay was already married to Zarine Khan. When Zarine learned about the affair, she was pregnant with their son Zayed Khan and gave Sanjay an ultimatum.

When Zarine spoke about Sanjay`s affair with Zeenat

Zarine and Sanjay publicly addressed this phase of their lives when they appeared on the chat show Rendezvous With Simi Garewal. When host Simi Garewal asked if the rumours of his relationship with Zeenat were true, Sanjay replied, “It could have happened.”

Further, when Simi asked Zarine if this happened while she was pregnant with Zayed, she said, “Yes.”

Explaining further, Zarine said she always believed her husband would return to her. “I knew my husband. Maybe he faltered a little bit, but being an actor’s wife, you have to have patience and the strength and conviction to know he will come back to you.”

Sanjay met Zarine when she was 14

Zarine was a popular model who made her mark in the entertainment industry in the 1960s. She began her career as an actress and appeared in films such as Tere Ghar Ke Saamne and Ek Phool Do Mali. After marrying Sanjay Khan, Zarine shifted her career to interior design and home décor. She also wrote cookbooks and lifestyle articles.

Sanjay met Zarine when she was 14, through his mother, Bibi Fatima Begum Khan. Years later, the duo started dating and got married in 1966. The couple went on to have four children — Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan. Zarine and Sanjay’s relationship was based on love and trust.
For the uninitiated, Zarine had stood by her husband rock solid during his fire accident on the set of the television series The Sword of Tipu Sultan in 1990, where he suffered severe burns.

Zarine Khan passes away

Zarine passed away on Friday morning due to a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 81. As per reports, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones. Her last rites were held in Mumbai on Friday afternoon and carried out by her son Zayed Khan.

She is survived by her four children- Zayed Khan, Sussanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, and Simone Arora. She was also the former mother-in-law of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who was married to her daughter Sussanne in the early 2000s. Though not an active actor, Zarine played Dev Anand’s secretary, Jenny Fernandes, in Tere Ghar Ke Saamne (1963).
