After veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi was hospitalised, it was reported that Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, daughter of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, contributed towards his treatment. Following this, a few insensitive comments surfaced online regarding her donation. However, the reality TV star and jewellery designer clarified that reports of her being trolled were exaggerated.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni on reaction to helping Sudhir Dalvi
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Riddhima said there was no major trolling, apart from a single negative comment. “There is no trolling happening. There was one negative comment, and I replied to that person, that’s it. So many people have been commenting with their blessings and good wishes, and that is what matters,” she shared.
Talking about helping people in need, Sahni said, “I’ve always believed in doing my bit in whatever capacity I can. Helping someone in need and giving back is important. Goodwill is what you leave behind; nothing else matters.”
She added, “If people bless me for the little I’m able to do, that means the world to me. I would encourage everyone to do the same.”
About Sudhir Dalvi`s hospitalisation
Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, best known for his iconic portrayal of Sai Baba in Manoj Kumar`s 1977 classic Shirdi Ke Sai Baba, has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai since October 8, 2025, and is reportedly suffering from severe sepsis — a serious, potentially life-threatening infection requiring intensive medical care. According to a report by Movie Talkies, the 86-year-old actor’s medical expenses have already crossed Rs 10 lakh, and doctors estimate the total cost could reach Rs 15 lakh.
The actor’s family has expressed concern over the rising expenses and requested that fans and members of the film fraternity extend financial support for his ongoing care. When the news went viral on social media, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni was among the first to respond. She donated towards the expenses and wished Dalvi a speedy recovery, commenting under the post that sought support: “Done. Wishing him a speedy recovery.”
One user questioned her comment after donating, writing, “Why did you mention it here if you’ve helped? Footage chahiye?” Riddhima responded gracefully, saying, “Everything in life is not about optics — helping someone in need, in whatever capacity you can, is the biggest blessing.”
