Yashasvi Jaiswal made a fairytale debut, scoring a big daddy hundred and earning the Player of the Match award. The Mumbaikar scored a patient 171 off 387 balls in the opening Test vs West Indies at Windsor Park, Roseau. The knock made him India’s 17th centurion on Test debut. His record 229-run partnership — the highest opening stand for India outside Asia — with then skipper Rohit Sharma powered the visitors to a massive innings-and-141-run victory.

209 vs England (Visakhapatnam, 2024)

On challenging spin-friendly conditions in Visakhapatnam, where the other India batters failed to go beyond 34 in the first innings, Jaiswal stood firm, scoring his second century and a maiden double ton — 209 off 290 balls — to help India post 396 in the second Test against England. His 423-minute marathon knock, laced with 19 fours and seven sixes, guided the hosts to a 106-run victory to level the five-match series 1-1.

214* vs England (Rajkot, 2024)

After making 209 in the second match of the series,  Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 214 in the next match here. After retiring hurt on 105 in the 2nd innings, he returned to score his second consecutive double-ton,  his highest in Tests. He also equalled the record for the most sixes in a Test innings (12). India won by a massive 434 runs.

161 vs Australia (Perth, 2024)

This was not just Jaiswal’s fourth Test ton, but also his fourth 150-plus score in Tests. He made amends for a first-innings duck by scoring a match-winning 161 to give India the upper hand in the opening Test of the series last November. His 201-run opening stand with KL Rahul helped India set a huge 534-run target.
