Team India is all set to lock horns against Australia in the three-match ODI series. Ahead of the series, India`s stalwart Virat Kohli will make his first appearance in competitive cricket since the Champions Trophy 2025 triumph.
Ahead of the contest, the veteran shared a mysterious post on his official social media handle, which read, “The only time you truly fail, is when you decide to give up”.

After the Champions Trophy 2025, Kohli was expected to return for the Test series against England, but instead, he drew curtains on his Test career.
The Delhi-born cricketer has made his intentions very clear to feature in the ODI World Cup 2027. But there have been speculations that it may not turn out as many have hoped.
During the squad announcement for the ODI series against Australia, Team India`s chief selector Ajit Agarkar brushed out the rumours surrounding the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat.
He confirmed that the duo has been selected with the ODI World Cup 2027 in mind.
“Not as far as I know. I think they have both done their fitness tests or the fitness norms that have been suggested. As far as I know and the selectors know, they have gone through the required norms that have been put in place. I haven`t heard anything other than that,” Agarkar had said while speaking to reporters.
“That`s the format they (Virat and Rohit) are at the moment playing, we picked them as far as the 2027 World Cup is concerned. I don`t think we need to talk about it today. Obviously, with the captaincy change, that`s generally the thought,” he added.
The duo will need to put on a strong performance in Australia in order to keep their spots secured in India`s ODI squad.
