Renowned filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has poured his heart out in a touching birthday tribute for his son, the Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who celebrated turning 52 on Saturday. Rakesh took to social media to extend warm wishes to his son, affectionately known as Duggu, sharing a delightful artwork that depicts an older Hrithik embracing his younger self. He captioned the post, “Duggu, I love you more with each passing year. Happy birthday! Creative by artofroshans. Thank you.”
Rakesh, who is married to Pinkie Roshan, is a proud parent of two, including Hrithik and his daughter Sunaina Roshan. Often hailed as the millennial superstar, Hrithik ranks among India’s highest-paid actors. Since 2012, he has repeatedly featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list, a testament to his income and immense popularity.
Hrithik began his acting journey as a child star in the 1980s and later transitioned to working as an assistant director on four of his father’s films. His breakout role came with the blockbuster Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. His performances in the 2000 terrorism drama Fiza and the 2001 family saga Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham catapulted him to fame.
A significant milestone in his career was the 2003 sci-fi film Koi… Mil Gaya, which paved the way for his role as a superhero in the Krrish series. He also received critical acclaim for his portrayal of an army officer in Lakshya. Over the years, Hrithik has starred in notable films like Dhoom 2, Jodhaa Akbar, Guzaarish, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Agneepath, Super 30, Bang Bang!, War, and Fighter.
Looking ahead, Hrithik is set to make his entry into the OTT space as a producer with his upcoming thriller, Storm, in collaboration with Prime Video, set in Mumbai. Production is expected to commence soon, according to variety.com.
In April 2025, news broke that Hrithik will also make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, where he will juggle both directing and acting as he reprises his role as the franchise’s superhero. Filming for this project is slated to begin early next year.
