As excitement grows for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love and War, recent rumors suggested that filming delays might push the release to 2027. However, insiders have quickly dismissed these claims, affirming that the film remains on schedule for its anticipated 2026 debut.
According to a report from Pinkvilla, a significant portion of the film’s shooting is yet to be completed, prompting the team to reassess their timeline. The plan is to finish principal photography by June 2026, after which the film will enter a comprehensive post-production phase.
The report indicates that the film’s grand scale is one reason for the delay. Love and War is said to feature extensive aerial action sequences that require considerable visual effects work. Given Bhansali’s reputation for cinematic excellence, the post-production process will be thorough and time-consuming, casting doubt on a 2026 release.
Scheduling conflicts also play a crucial role, with Ranbir Kapoor starring in another major film, Ramayana: Part One, set to release in November 2026. Therefore, the producers aim to create a buffer between the two high-profile releases to ensure focused marketing and adequate attention for each film.
While some reports speculate that filming may wrap by mid-2026, with post-production extending into late 2026, sources close to the project have reiterated that Love and War is firmly targeting a 2026 release. A representative stated, “The film is on track for 2026. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has just completed shooting a song track, and the major sequences have already been filmed.”
