Nick Jonas, the American singer and actor, has embraced Indian culture and Hinduism following his marriage to actress Priyanka Chopra. The couple, proud parents to their four-year-old daughter, joyfully honors both of their heritages. Over the years, Nick has expressed how profoundly India has influenced him, often sharing videos of himself dancing to Bollywood tunes. He actively participates in Indian and Hindu festivals alongside Priyanka and their daughter, highlighting their commitment to a multi-religious upbringing. Recently, during an appearance on the Sach Sang Show, Nick revealed his deep appreciation for his wife’s culture and their efforts to instill strong values from both backgrounds in their daughter.
When discussing his journey with Hinduism, Nick reflected, “I always dreamed of having a large extended family and a partner who shared that vision. My first visit to India was magical; spending time with Priyanka’s family and immersing myself in her culture was an unforgettable experience. Many of my cherished traditions and memories are now rooted in Indian culture.”
He also emphasized the beauty of Hindu philosophies, stating, “I’ve gained invaluable insights into Hinduism, which I find both profound and beautiful. The concept of karma—treating others as you wish to be treated—resonates deeply with me. We’re dedicated to raising our daughter with genuine Hindu values and a meaningful understanding of them. I feel truly blessed to have a family that celebrates both multiculturalism and multi-religiosity.”
Nick and Priyanka’s love story began with dating before they tied the knot in a spectacular 2018 wedding that seamlessly combined Christian and Hindu rites. They welcomed their daughter Malti through surrogacy in January 2022. Priyanka has shared that surrogacy was essential for her due to medical complications, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. Reflecting on the challenging early days with their newborn, she said, “We spent every moment with her, never knowing if she would make it.”
On the professional front, Nick is set to star alongside Paul Rudd in the upcoming film Power Ballad, while Priyanka is returning to Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu, having already filmed key scenes in Hyderabad and other locations.
