In a world dominated by digital distractions, A. R. Rahman has chosen to step back from the online sphere to fully immerse himself in his creative endeavors. The acclaimed music composer revealed his plans for a 40-day digital detox aimed at honing his focus for the highly anticipated Ramayana event. This announcement was made during a live concert held in Chennai.

According to a report from Bollywood Hungama, sources indicate that a significant event related to Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is scheduled for March 2026, where the cast and crew will be unveiled to the public. To meet this pressing timeline, Rahman is ramping up his efforts to finalize his work.

Collaborating with the renowned Hans Zimmer, Rahman is crafting the film’s score, which features stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. Reflecting on this partnership, Rahman previously shared with The Hollywood Reporter India, “It’s a daunting task for both of us. We’re tasked with scoring something iconic that resonates globally. We aim to breathe new life into an epic tale that every Indian holds dear.”

He also emphasized the need for a unique approach to the film’s music, stating that they must unlearn certain instincts while preserving the timeless essence of the epic. Rahman is collaborating closely with poet Kumar Vishwas, who brings a wealth of knowledge about the Ramayana and the Hindi language to this ambitious project.

About the grand Ramayana event, it is set to take place on March 27 at the Gateway of India in Mumbai. This occasion will serve as the official introduction of the film’s key characters, including Yash. Reports suggest that numerous senior political figures, along with celebrities from entertainment and sports, are expected to grace the event. As per Mid-Day, Ranbir, who portrays Lord Ram, has personally invited his family and close friends to the ceremony. Yash will play Ravana, Sai Pallavi will depict Sita, while Sunny Deol takes on the role of Hanuman and Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman.
