Sunny Leone, the talented actress preparing for her upcoming streaming film Kennedy, recently expressed her astonishment at being cast in the project. She revealed that it wasn’t until she stepped foot on the set that she truly believed she was part of the film. Despite participating in trials and workshops for Anurag Kashyap’s directorial venture, Sunny felt uncertain about her involvement. “My initial reaction was disbelief; I couldn’t fully accept that I had been offered the role until the first day of shooting,” she shared.
“Even after attending trials and workshops, the entertainment industry is notoriously unpredictable, and anything can change at a moment’s notice. I felt an immense sense of relief when we completed the first shot and moved on. That’s when I thought, ‘Okay, I think I did well enough that they won’t replace me.'”
Reflecting on a particular scene that resonated with her long after filming, Sunny recounted, “The moment that stuck with me is when Charlie waits in a hotel room for the officer. She’s filled with fear and anxiety, yet she knows what’s coming. The shift from her vulnerable state in the bathroom to that forced smile on her face is something many can relate to. Often, we find ourselves masking our true feelings just to get through the day, and that’s a tough reality to face.”
She further expressed her enthusiasm for the film’s layered narrative, stating, “I adore this genre. It’s rich with depth, prompting thought and provoking conversation. The dialogues compel you to listen closely and connect with the themes that mirror our own lives. That’s the beauty of working within this noir universe.”
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Kennedy also features Rahul Bhat and will be available for streaming on ZEE5 starting February 20, 2026.
