Just days after his release from Tihar Jail, actor Rajpal Yadav was spotted joyfully dancing at his niece’s mehendi ceremony in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Having surrendered in a cheque-bounce case earlier this month, Yadav spent nearly 12 days behind bars before the court granted him interim bail. Following the completion of legal formalities, he was released and quickly joined his family in celebrating the festive occasion.
In a viral video from the mehendi celebration, the beloved actor, known for his role in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’, is seen dancing energetically to Salman Khan’s popular track, ‘Teri Chunnariya Dil Le Gayi’. Dressed in a stylish beige kurta and lungi, he was surrounded by family members, including his wife, Radha.
Upon his release, Rajpal took to Instagram to express his heartfelt gratitude to fans for their unwavering support. He shared a post in Hindi, saying, “Aap sabhi ke pyaar aur saath ke liye dil se dhanyawaad (Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and support).”
Regarding the cheque-bounce case, it was reported that Yadav had borrowed Rs. 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt. Ltd. in 2010 to finance his directorial debut, ‘Ata Pata Laapata’. Unfortunately, the film did not perform well at the box office, leading to difficulties in repaying the loan. As a result, the cheques he issued bounced, prompting the lender to take legal action. Over time, the amount owed ballooned to approximately Rs 9 crore.
On February 4, 2026, the Delhi High Court denied further extensions to the actor, leading him to surrender to the Tihar authorities on February 5. However, just days later, on February 16, the court suspended his sentence until March 18 and permitted his release after noting that Yadav had deposited Rs 1.5 crore into the complainant’s account.
