Renowned Punjabi artist Karan Aujla is currently on his Pop Culture Tour across India, having kicked things off in New Delhi on February 28. As he made his way to Mumbai for a performance on March 3, he took a memorable ride in one of the city’s iconic autorickshaws. In a generous act, he cleared a whopping Rs 17,000 in outstanding traffic fines for the driver who was transporting him. Not stopping there, he also covered an additional Rs 5,000 for another driver’s dues.
Karan Aujla’s photographer, Taran Sodhi, shared a captivating video capturing the moment the singer was stopped by a traffic officer while riding in the rickshaw. The driver was informed of the pending fines amounting to Rs 17,000, prompting Aujla to immediately direct his team to settle the dues.
Seeing this act of kindness, another rickshaw driver approached Aujla, asking for help with his own fine of Rs 5,000. Without hesitation, the singer agreed to assist, leading to an ecstatic embrace from the grateful driver who realized it was Aujla who had come to his rescue.
Karan was overheard expressing his joy, saying, “We were pulled over due to some pending fines, and I told the officer we’d take care of it. I genuinely love doing this.” He also reminded the driver to adhere to traffic regulations in the future, stating, “Koi aur pay nahi karega (no one else will pay). Suddenly I’m the city’s favorite.”
On the touring front, Karan Aujla made waves with his P-POP CULTURE India Tour, which launched with a phenomenal concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday, attracting over 75,000 fans. This event ranks among the highest-attended single-day concerts in India, trailing only behind Coldplay, solidifying Aujla’s status as one of the leading live Punjabi performers in the country.
Reflecting on this groundbreaking achievement, he remarked, “Tonight was more than just a concert; it was a celebration of culture and a moment of unity through love and passion. I’m incredibly grateful to see Delhi come together to celebrate with me. This is just the start of the P-POP CULTURE revolution. From the village to here, a dream has come true.”
The concert was a spectacular blend of Punjabi pop and innovative production. The P-POP CULTURE Tour, which began in the Middle East before reaching India, turned the stadium into a vibrant arena filled with light, sound, and energy.
DJ Chetas kicked off the night with an electrifying DJ set, setting an exhilarating tone for the evening. Aujla made a grand entrance from beneath the stage on a pop-up lift, instantly energizing the crowd. In a thrilling moment, he even soared across the stadium on a zipline, engaging audiences in a unique 360-degree experience.
