The moment fans have eagerly awaited is finally here! Shahid Kapoor has officially kicked off the shooting for “Farzi 2”. He took to social media to share the thrilling news, posting a striking black and white image with the production team and captioning it, “Farzi 2 day 1… back at it!!! (sic)”. Since the debut of the first season in 2023, viewers have been counting down the days for the next chapter of this gripping crime thriller.
Back in February, Shahid teased the arrival of “Farzi 2” with another social media update, featuring a picture with creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna Dasarakothapalli—known collectively as Raj & DK—alongside the caption, “The fakers are back at it.” Raj & DK confirmed the show’s progress on their official Instagram, sharing a photo of stacks of cash with the caption “Round 2 in progress.”
The series, which is both created and directed by Raj & DK, also sees contributions from writers Sita Menon and Suman Kumar. It boasts a remarkable ensemble cast, including Shahid, Vijay Sethupathi, Raashii Khanna, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuvan Arora, Regina Cassandra, and Amol Palekar.
The eight-episode series, which launched on Amazon Prime Video on February 10, 2023, follows the story of Sunny, a small-time con artist portrayed by Shahid, as he gets entangled in a treacherous world of crime while attempting to execute the ultimate con.
In addition to “Farzi 2”, Shahid is set to appear in “Cocktail 2”, the sequel to the beloved 2012 film featuring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. This new installment will see him sharing the screen with Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films.
