Then, out of the blue, I found myself unable to enjoy coffee on an empty stomach. Hello, perimenopause! I’ve since swapped it for a warm drink made with lemon, ginger, and chia seeds, and it has genuinely transformed my mornings for the better.

She elaborated, “As the hormonal changes kick in during perimenopause, especially with fluctuating estrogen levels, issues like acidity, bloating, and caffeine sensitivity can become pronounced. This soothing drink has provided me with a gentler start to the day. It hydrates, aids digestion, combats bloating, adds fiber for gut health, and offers a clean, sustainable energy boost—less buzz, more balance.”

Soha also shared her secret ingredient: a dash of turmeric (haldi). Known for its curcumin content, turmeric boasts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits.
