Ahead of the multi-format series against Pakistan, South Africa announced its squads for the contest.
Aiden Markram has been appointed South Africa`s captain for the Test series, whereas Matthew Breetzke will take over the leadership duties in ODIs. Swashbuckling batsman David Miller will be leading the Proteas in the T20I series against Pakistan.
What excites fans the most is the return of explosive opening batsman Quinton de Kock in One-Day Internationals. The left-hander had announced his retirement from the format after the ODI World Cup 2023, which was held in India.
Ahead of the ODI series against the “Men in Green”, de Kock was named in the Proteas` squad for the 50-over contest.
So far, the 32-year-old has played 155 ODI matches for South Africa. With 6770 runs, he also had 21 centuries and 30 half-centuries to his name in the format. His top score is 178 runs, and he is also exceptional with the `glove work` behind the stumps.
The three-match ODI series against Pakistan is scheduled to be played from November 4. The second match will be played on November 6, followed by the third and final ODI match on November 8.
Currently, Pakistan is busy featuring in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. The side has qualified for the `Super Four` stage and has suffered a humiliating loss against arch-rivals, Team India.
