While Vadh 2 garnered significant acclaim for the stellar performances of Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta, Amitt K Singh also played a pivotal role as the investigating officer, Ateeth Singh. In a heartfelt conversation with Mid-Day, he opened up about his experiences in the film, his career trajectory, and more. Here are some highlights from the interview.
Reflecting on his career hiatus, Amitt shared, “I wouldn’t call myself very selective, but there was indeed a gap. After my role in Ziddi Dil Maane Na, I faced a personal loss when my father passed away, which made it tough to concentrate on work for nearly a year. It was only after returning to Bombay that I began auditioning again.”
He acknowledged that he has become somewhat selective in his choices: “I believe in waiting for the right opportunity that resonates with me. It’s essential to pursue work that brings joy rather than taking on projects just for the sake of it. Happiness is the ultimate goal in life. If what you’re doing doesn’t make you happy, it’s not worth it.”
Amitt continued, “I take my time to seek out roles that challenge me. There are times when I feel the urgency to accept offers, but I remind myself that closing one small door might lead to a bigger opportunity down the line.”
On the subject of working alongside veterans like Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra in Vadh 2, Amitt confessed, “Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about collaborating with such seasoned actors. The experience made me question my own abilities, leading to feelings of imposter syndrome. However, once I met them and started working, those fears quickly dissipated. They made me feel welcomed and at ease, and I found myself eagerly anticipating our shooting days.”
He added, “Before this experience, I thought working with such prominent actors would be intimidating. Yet, collaborating with talented individuals actually simplifies the process. I learned to go with the flow. The moment I started conversing and working with them, my misconceptions faded; I realized that working with great actors can be incredibly enriching and supportive.”
