Actress Bhumika Chawla, known for her memorable roles in films like Tere Naam and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, recently took a moment to reflect on her life and career, spanning nearly three decades. Starting her journey in the entertainment industry with the 1998 music video ‘Yuhi Kabhi Mila Karo’ by the late Zubeen Garg, Bhumika shared a series of nostalgic photos from her earlier days, captured by renowned photographer Dabboo Ratnani, on her Instagram account.
In her heartfelt caption, the 47-year-old actress reminisced about the passage of time: “What a long time ago… life captured in stills… such a long time ago 1998… Shot by —- dabbooratnani 28 years flew by… or rather feels like an eternity…” She poignantly discussed her ups and downs, stating, “We can see through the lens… Memories… lessons… the rise and fall… in the journey and rise again… So many roles in life played of a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister… a friend… So many characters…”
Hailing from New Delhi, Bhumika, originally named Rachna Chawla, made her acting debut in the 2000 film Yuvakudu. Her impressive filmography includes hits like Jai Chiranjeeva, Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, Badri, Kushi, Okkadu, Simhadri, Tere Naam, and Middle Class Abbayi. Her Bollywood breakthrough came with the 2003 blockbuster Tere Naam, a remake of the 1999 Tamil film Sethu. This cult classic tells the poignant love story of Radhe Mohan, a college student with a fiery temperament, who finds love with the introverted Nirjara.
Bhumika was last seen in the Tamil film School in 2025, a psychological thriller directed by R. K. Vidyadharan, featuring Yogi Babu and K. S. Ravikumar in key roles.
