Aditya Dhar’s star-studded sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has taken the box office by storm since its release in December 2025. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the film is on a remarkable upswing, marking an impressive opening day with a staggering ₹100 crore collection in India. Although there was a slight dip in earnings on Friday, it had minimal impact on the film’s overall performance.
Dhurandhar 2 made its debut worldwide on Thursday, March 19, with paid previews beginning on Wednesday, which became the largest in Indian cinema history. The film raked in ₹145 crore net on its opening day, coinciding with the festive periods of Ugadi and Gudi Padwa across various regions in India.
On its second day, the film added a phenomenal ₹81 crore to its total. With the Eid festival around the corner, expectations are high for a blockbuster weekend, with trade analysts predicting that it could surpass ₹100 crore net on at least one of the days.
Internationally, Dhurandhar 2 has also made a significant impact, generating nearly USD 7 million (including paid previews) on its opening day. Despite facing a ban in the Gulf region, the film accrued another USD 5 million on Friday.
In total, Dhurandhar 2 has surpassed ₹200 crore in India, accumulating ₹226 crore net (₹269 crore gross) domestically within just two days. This achievement positions it as the Hindi film with the two highest single-day collections in India, relegating Jawan’s first Sunday to third place.
Experts predict that Dhurandhar 2 is on track to cross the ₹500 crore mark worldwide by Saturday. The film features a stellar cast, including Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, all returning for this highly anticipated sequel. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the original Dhurandhar grossed ₹1300 crore globally and continues to screen in select theaters three months after its December release.
