Aditya Dhar’s eagerly awaited film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is poised for a grand release, generating significant excitement among fans. The advance ticket sales have already set a new benchmark, hinting at what could be one of the most monumental premieres in the landscape of Indian cinema. In response to the overwhelming demand, cinema operators are exploring innovative ways to accommodate audiences, including extending showtimes into the late night and early morning hours. This means that moviegoers in Mumbai can now catch Dhurandhar 2 around the clock.

With nearly 1.5 million tickets sold across the country before its official release, Dhurandhar 2 has made waves in advance bookings. Notably, a substantial portion of this figure—approximately 800,000 tickets—has been reserved for paid preview screenings scheduled for Wednesday, a day prior to the film’s official Thursday launch. Given the film’s lengthy runtime of nearly four hours, many exhibitors face challenges in scheduling more than four screenings per screen during regular hours.

To meet the rising demand, several theatres have opted to introduce late-night shows for the highly anticipated Ranveer Singh film, a move that is quite rare in the Indian film industry. In Mumbai and Thane, platforms like PVR Chakala and Movie Max Sion are offering additional screenings over the weekend, starting as early as 2 AM and running until 11:30 PM across various screens. Other venues, such as Movie Max in Thane and Miraj Cinemas in Wadala, have also announced post-midnight screenings beginning Thursday. While not all cities can replicate this model due to logistical and safety considerations, many theatres in Western and Southern India are expected to follow suit in the coming days, launching late-night showings of the film.

The advance bookings for Dhurandhar 2 are breaking records at a rapid pace. The film has garnered nearly 8 lakh tickets for its paid previews, amassing Rs 35 crore—significantly surpassing the previous record of Rs 25 crore held by Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG last year. Additionally, the film has recorded Rs 21 crore in gross revenue from day one advance bookings.

On the international front, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has achieved a remarkable feat, becoming the first Indian film to secure USD 5 million in pre-sales in North America. Overall, Dhurandhar 2’s advance booking collections worldwide have already crossed Rs 125 crore.
