Ranveer Singh’s latest film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has been making waves at the box office since its release on March 19. Quickly becoming a hot topic of discussion, the film has garnered positive reviews from audiences. Numerous celebrities, including Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu, Rajkumar Rao, and Alia Bhatt, have expressed their admiration for the movie. The most recent endorsement comes from Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni.
Nagarjuna’s Enthusiastic Reaction
Taking to X, Nagarjuna shared his thoughts after watching the film, stating that it “blew” his mind and stayed with him long after. He commended director Aditya Dhar and the entire team for their efforts.
He wrote, “Just experienced this incredible film called DhurandharTheRevenge! What a journey! It completely blew my mind, and I can’t stop thinking about it. This film is truly inspirational and a game-changer in filmmaking! Huge congratulations to the visionary director @AdityaDharFilms and the entire technical team, including those behind the camera, music, sound design, action, and art. A big shoutout to all the ACTORS; you were outstanding. Proudly, Annapurna Studios Hyderabad has processed Dolby Cinema for this film and handled localization for South Indian languages.”
In stark contrast, actress and politician Ramya did not share the same enthusiasm for Dhurandhar 2. She took to X to voice her dissatisfaction, criticizing Aditya Dhar for what she described as promoting “propaganda and jingoism,” urging audiences to reconsider spending their money on the film.
Ramya expressed her thoughts, saying, “Just watched Dhurandhar 2, and wow! What a masterclass in how to turn something promising into an endurance test. If you’re considering watching it, do yourself a favor—save your time and money. The direction, dialogues, editing, background score, and acting were all consistently underwhelming. It genuinely feels like no one informed them about the March 19 release date. Or worse, they knew and said, ‘Perfect, send it out.’”
She continued, “And the violence! This isn’t just a film; it’s practically a visual guide on how to creatively use any object as a weapon. Syringe? Check. Spanner? Check. Knives, spiked balls, machetes, chains, guns—you name it, they’ve weaponized it. It seems the director is in a constant competition with himself: ‘How can I make the next scene more violent or absurd than the last?’
“Dhurandhar 2 is a massive letdown. At best, it’s a snoozefest/comedy. If the first part had you cheering, this one will make you wonder, ‘Why Dhurandhar 2?’ Ranveer, you deserve better. Aditya Dhar, jingoism and propaganda are so outdated. Time to move on!”
