Director Vikram Bhatt, who recently secured regular bail in February, has taken to social media to voice his thoughts on the swirling rumors surrounding Vijay and Trisha’s supposed romance. Bhatt had been incarcerated due to an alleged multi-crore cheating case involving his wife, Shwetambari Soni.

In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Vikram expressed his uncertainty regarding the truth of the rumors but acknowledged that he has experienced both sides of the spectrum in similar situations. He noted that the human heart is unpredictable, often gravitating toward what brings it joy.

His message read, “There has been a lot of chatter about the personal lives of Vijay and Trisha Krishnan. I cannot confirm if the rumors are accurate. But if they are, I feel the need to share my perspective.”

He elaborated, “My recent time in prison has opened my eyes to the importance of freedom—how it feels to long for a simple cup of tea or to search for a tube of toothpaste. Yet, there’s a deeper form of imprisonment that exists: the entrapment of the human spirit. When two individuals are stuck in a relationship past its expiration, pressured by society to stay together, that is a prison of its own.”

Vikram continued, “I’ve been on both ends of this spectrum. I’ve been naive and have also been the one doing the deceiving. I’ve learned that the heart is fallible; it seeks happiness, and when it finds it, it should embrace it. Personally, I would leave a loveless relationship—regardless of material possessions—because my dignity is paramount.”

Turning his attention to Vijay and Trisha, he remarked, “I admire Vijay and Trisha for their integrity. There’s something respectable about not pretending that love doesn’t exist. Hiding love as if it were shameful is unnecessary. We all know people who lead double lives, using anonymous profiles on dating apps or deleting messages before returning home. Ironically, those very individuals often judge others harshly.”

Vikram pointed out that while individually, we may be compassionate and understanding of heartbreak and love’s complexities, the dynamics shift in a crowd. “As a collective, we can become self-righteous and judgmental, losing our empathy in the process,” he stated.

He concluded with a powerful message: “Their films are our shared treasure, but their personal lives belong to them. I will always advocate for the freedom of the human heart. Everyone has the right to love and live freely.”

As for Vijay and Trisha, they were recently seen together at the wedding reception of producer Kalpathi S. Suresh’s son in Chennai on March 5. This appearance occurred amidst Vijay’s ongoing divorce proceedings with his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, who has accused him of infidelity in her petition. The speculation of an affair between Trisha and Vijay has been circulating for years, yet neither has publicly addressed the rumors.
