Former international umpire Anil Chaudhary feels that Team India is above the rest of the sides participating in Asia Cup 2025.
Speaking on the dominance of the “Men in Blue”, Chaudhary said that he had predicted that India would play in the final of the continental tournament.
“I had predicted that India would play Sri Lanka in the finals. The way India is playing, there`s a huge gap between India and the other teams,” he said.
Further, he explained the unpredictable nature of the T20 format, stating that an individual player`s performance or that of two or three other players can change the course of the game.
“T20 is such a game that it`s better not to predict too much. Sometimes, even two or three players can change the match. Sometimes individual performances can change the course of the game,” said Chaudhary.
So far, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India stands unbeaten in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 tournament. Since opening the campaign on September 10, the “Men in Blue” have defeated UAE, Oman, and have also handed humiliating defeats to arch-rivals Pakistan twice in the tournament.
Abhishek Sharma, with his explosive batting approach, remains the top player to watch out for in Team India. In the side`s recent outing against Pakistan, the left-hander had delivered a match-winning knock of 74 runs.
The Indian team will now lock horns against Bangladesh in the `Super Four` stage of Asia Cup 2025 on Wednesday. They will then clash against Sri Lanka on Friday.
The Asia Cup 2025 final is scheduled to be played on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium.
