Australia is all set to lock horns against Team India for the white-ball series, starting from October 19.

The series will consist of three ODIs and five T20I matches between the two teams.

Ahead of the three-match ODI series against Team India, Australia`s star all-rounder Cameron Green has been replaced by Marnus Labuschagne.

Green has sustained side soreness. The selectors are also not ready to take a chance ahead of the Ashes, which will begin next month.

“Green will complete a short period of rehabilitation and is tracking to return to play in round three of the Sheffield Shield to continue his preparation for the Ashes,” Cricket Australia said in a statement suggesting that Green not playing the ODIs is a precautionary step.

Earlier, Labuschagne was not picked for the ODI series, but now has been drafted in after his stunning knock of 159 runs in a Sheffield Shield match for Queensland. The knock also marked his fourth century of the domestic season.

It is the third forced change Australia has had to make for the first ODI against India, with Josh Phillippe replacing injured Josh Ingli,s and Matthew Kuhnemann set to play in place of Adam Zampa, who will miss the game due to personal reasons.

The ODI series will also mark the first appearance of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for Team India since the Champions Trophy 2025 triumph.

Additionally, the “Men in Blue” will enter the 50-over format series under the leadership of Shubman Gill. The 26-year-old replaced Rohit ahead of the series. The first ODI match is scheduled to be played on October 19 at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
