After the first ODI match against Team India, Australia`s star pacer Josh Hazlewood said that he is confident of featuring in all five Test matches of the Ashes against England.
In the rain-curtailed ODI match against India, Hazlewood claimed two wickets by conceding 20 runs in seven overs. When asked if he wish to get a similar pitch in the first Ashes Test, he answered in a positive manner.
“For sure. Perth always offers some nice bounce and pace which has served us well in the past, especially with our bowlers who all offer something different,” he told Morning Herald.
“It was a nice start. [My] rhythm felt good off the back of New Zealand. Everything is feeling good at the moment, a nice way to start the build [to the Ashes],” he added.
He also said that a fast bowler always carries a niggle, but expressed confidence in featuring in all five Test matches of Ashes.
“That`s the life of a fast bowler, everyone is carrying some sort of niggle. My body feels great right now, I am very confident of getting through all five without any dramas,” said the 34-year-old pacer.
Coming to the first ODI match against Australia, Team India posted a total of 136 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 26 overs. The play was cut short to 26 overs from 50, due to persistent rain.
KL Rahul emerged as the top scorer for India. Facing 31 balls, he accumulated 38 runs with the help of two boundaries and two maximums.
Later, however, Australia`s skipper Mitchell Marsh played an unbeaten knock of 46 runs in 52 balls, including two boundaries and three maximums.
Riding on his knock, the Aussies secured a win by seven wickets in the first ODI match at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
The second ODI game between India and Australia is scheduled to be played on October 23 at the Adelaide Oval.
